Meteor U18 Boys Rep B Four-Peat As WOAA Champs
The Larry Hudson Chev Buick GMC Meteor U18 Rep B Boys defeated the Saugeen Valley Steelheads 3-2 on March 26th to capture their fourth consecutive WOAA Cruickshank Division Championship.  Both finalists will attend the OMHA U18 Tier 1 Championships in Halton Hills on April 4-6th, but the local win clinches the top seed for the Meteors in the tournament.

After a 2-1 win in the opening game of the series in Mitchell followed by a 3-3 tie in Hanover two nights later, the Meteors prepared for Game 3 of the 4-points series needing a win or a tie to clinch the championship.
Saugeen Valley opened the scoring in the first period, scooping up a loose puck at the Mitchell blueline and snapping it home.  Jack Nolan would tie the game on the powerplay from Kellen Russwurm, making it 1-1 after the first period.
Midway through the second period on the penalty kill, Nate Uniac stripped a Saugeen defenseman of the puck, bursting in all alone to tuck it between the legs of the Saugeen netminder for a 2-1 lead that they would hold through the end of the second period.
Saugeen Valley would tie the game early in the third period on a rush led by defenseman Jaxon Reay, feeding Cole Grinwis in the slot from behind the net.
Nolan would score his second of the game six minutes later, banging in his own rebound on a pass out front from Ethan Jarmuth.  Saugeen pressed hard for the tying goal on a powerplay opportunity late in the game, but goaltender Joel Meinen stood tall to preserve the win.
