Meteor Atoms Spoil Cyclones Debut in New Home Rink
The YNCU Meteor Atom Reps traveled to Listowel on December 10th to face the newly-crowned Silver Stick champ Cyclones in their new Steve Kerr Memorial Complex, just opened up this weekend.

Both teams engaged in a tight-checking scoreless first period, until Mitchell was first to crack the scoresheet late in the second as Colby Ryan led a rush up the ice, with Jack Miller finishing off the rebound for his first of two goals in the game.  The opponents opened up the offense in the third, with Mitchell building a 3-0 on Miller's second goal from Charlie Geiger, and Ethan Jarmuth set up by Ryan Hubbard and Geiger.  The Cyclones weren't going down without a fight, scoring two quick goals in just under three minutes to make it 3-2.  The Meteors buckled down and defended the man-advantage with the goalie pulled, and Geiger preserved the victory with an empty-net marker with 13 seconds remaining to lead with three points.
The previous evening, the Meteors traveled to Kincardine, losing a close one 3-2 to the host Kinucks.  The locals found themselves down early 17 seconds into the game, and Kincardine built a 2-0 lead early into the second. Mitchell got one goal back late in the second as Ryan Klumper set up Miller, and then fought back to tie the game early in the third as Jarmuth scored from Braden Hoegy.  The Kinucks scored the game-winner late in the final period on an odd-man rush for the victory.
