The Scotiabank Bantam AE boys have played three games over the weekend, starting off with Elma Logan on Friday night. The boys started with a goal in the first period scored by Kurtis Eisler and assisted by Tyler Smith. Elma Logan came back with 2 goals early in the second period. The Mitchell boys evened it back up by the end of the second with a goal from Curtis Lockhart, unassisted. In the final period Elma scored 2 more goals, but Mitchell continued to push to the net and scored another goal from Ben Hart, assisted by Desmond Finlayson, and tied it up with 42 seconds to go by a goal from Jacob Laing assisted by Hart and James Cooper. Final score 4 – 4.
Saturday the boys saw action in Teeswater against South Bruce. In a very spirited game, the boys started out with a goal early on by Smith, unassisted. South Bruce responded back with a goal that continued through the game. Smith continued on to get a hat trick, his second goal was assisted by Hart, third goal unassisted. The boys played a fairly good game, but spent too much time in the penalty box. Final Score 4 – 3.
Finally the boys played in an exhibition game in St. Mary’s. The boys played a good game, they had St. Mary’s come out with 2 goals in the first and kicked it into gear in the second with a goal from Cooper assisted by Zeke Koert, and another by Riley Sykes assisted by Lockhart and Eisler. As St. Mary’s scored another goal in the third, the game shifted momentum and too much time was spent in the penalty box again during the third period and the boys were unable to make up the goal. Final score 3 – 2.
The boys will see action next in St. Mary’s for a tournament this coming weekend.
