The Your Neighbourhood Credit Union Atom Reps played strong in Game 5 securing a 3-2 victory over Twin Centre and advancing on to the OMHA Finals.
After losing two games straight and being shut out in both games, the series momentum had shifted in Twin Centre's favor. After a pre-game "Pep Talk", the boys came out flying and controlled the early minutes of the game with multiple scoring chances around the Twin Centre net. However, the scoring didn't start until the second period when Evan Morrison fired a shot past the Twin Centre goalie assisted by Connor MacLean. Connor Lockhart (MacLean & Morrison) added to the lead to put the boys up 2-0. Twin Centre answered with a goal of their own to come back within 1. The third period would see Lockhart score his second of the game on a beautiful pass from Evan Morrison to put the team ahead by two. Twin Centre pulled their goalie in the last minute of the game and scored with 15 seconds left, but it was too little, too late. The boys ran out the clock to earn their spot in the final series against Wasaga Beach. Games 1 and 2 scheduled this coming weekend in Wasaga Beach.
