First game of OMHA playoffs
Our Pee Wee AE team played their first game of the opening round of OMHA playoffs against Blyth/Brussels on Sunday Jan. 13th.

These two teams have played each other twice in the regular season and each have one win a piece.  Mitchell had the edge in the first period as they kept the play in Blyth/Brussels end, but they just could not find the net and the game remained tied at zero after the first period.
In the second Mitchell boys came out hard and they were rewarded three minutes in when B.Hart unloaded a monster slap shot from the slot.  Assists went to K.Forrest and T.DeJong.  Blyth/Brussels came right back two minutes later and tied the game 1-1.  Mitchell continued to pour on the pressure and before the period ended L.O'Rourke found the back of the net to give Mitchell a 2-1 lead.  Assists went to C.McCarthy and C.McCorkindale.
The third period saw Blyth/Brussels take an edge in play as they started to pepper Mitchell's goalie Q.Duncan, but Duncan was prefect in the third and didn't let Blyth/Brussels get anything past him.  With 15 seconds to go in the game Duncan stretched his right leg to rob the Blyth/Brussels forward and preserve the 2-1 Mitchell victory.
Game two in set for Friday Jan. 18th at 7:30 in Brussels.  Good luck team!
