FAQ in Response to Return to Play Email
We received a large number of questions in response to the Return to Play email that was sent to MMH families last night.

As such we have put together this FAQ to answer these questions and concerns.

Can my child be registered at two hockey associations? I.e. Lakers and Mitchell.

No. You can only be registered at one association. The player has to choose between the two associations. If for example, your child is in the Lakers 8 week program they cannot register in Mitchell until they have completed the program or withdraw. If your child finishes the Laker program in 8 weeks and Mitchell has closed registration and started their practice bubbles the child will only be accepted if there is room in one of their teams.

Can I register after the deadline?

No. Exception will be made only if there is room in an existing bubble.

Can my child play ringette or any other sport and hockey?

Yes, the rules only govern hockey. Although playing another sport goes against the intentions of Hockey Canada to create safe bubbles, ultimately a parent can register their child in multiple sports.

If we do not complete the season or do not move to 3 on 3 in 3c will we be refunded?

Yes. If due to Covid we do not move to 3c or the season is cut short, MMH will issue a refund of any positive balance (if any) to registered players once the year end books are closed.

Are you able to share what communities we'd be playing against if we choose this stream over house league?

No, not at this time. We have been in talks with all the associations in Huron Perth and currently there 5 associations wanting to form a Huron Perth Bubble. Planning has been ongoing since August with these associations.

I'm assuming house league programming has been cut in half given ice time will be sparse?

No. House league ice times should be similar to previous years. However, due to ice time restrictions some house league times may have to move from their regular Saturday morning times.

Will parents have the option to split payments or pay by session?

No.   You pay $600 upon registration (or less if your registration is less) and the remainder on November 1st. If finances are difficult please speak to an Executive Member and they can direct you to alternative methods. As stated in a question above, If due to Covid we do not move to 3c or the season is cut short, MMH will issue a refund of any positive balance (if any) to registered players once the year end books are closed.

What’s juvenile going to cost? Will juvenile ice be on the weekends?

The costing for Juvenile depends on interest from the registrants. At the moment there does not appear to be other Juvenile teams in Huron Perth to play against. If we have a program, we would try to put Juvenile late on weekend nights.

Am I reading correctly that Novice girls registration is $795?

Yes but No.  Unfortunately that was a typo. Although it reads $795 on our letter to parents, the actual registration amount is $550. When you go to register $550 will show up.

If my child plays house league do they get to play games immediately?

No. until Hockey moves to 3c no games are permitted in OHMA play. For our girls teams, games are permitted in the current environment because the protocols are different for the OWHA.

The OMHA has also put out a FAQ that answers many questions. We have enclosed the link below. Please have a look at it, if your question has not been answered above.
