Ace Garden Center U13 Girls, no longer the bridesmaids, Finally the Brides.
After finishing second in both prior tournaments this
season, the U13 Meteor Girls took home the gold medal in their home-town
tournament.
The girls finished the tournament unbeaten across 5 games with
Ally VanBakel not allowing a single goal all weekend. The Meteors faced four
new teams, Sault Ste Marie Wildcats, Kincardine Kinucks, North Middlesex Stars
and Mount Forest Rams, until meeting the familiar Lucan Irish in the finals.
The girls scored 12 goals across the 5 games. Leah Sills
(3), Reina Nevin (2), Phoebe Wood (2), and singles by Ella Sills, Callie
VanLoon, Dana Poppe, Kinslee Horan, Danica Voros. Assists were given to Horan
(3), Sophia VanNes (2), and Phoebe Wood.
Overall, a great weekend of hockey and a great way to end
the final Tournament of the season.
