This past weekend the Peewee AE's participated in the Strathroy AE Olympics.  The team played 4 very solid games, especially defensively but found themselves coming out on the wrong side of the score. In game one the locals played Dorchester, losing in overtime 2-1. The boys took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Caleb Tweddle, assists went to Carter Prezcator and Evan MacArthur.  But the lead was short lived as Dorchester tied it 28 seconds later.  Dorchester would win it with 46 seconds left in overtime.  Greg Reidy played a very solid game in net.

In game 2 the boys fell to Mount Brydges 2-1, again in overtime.  Scoring didn't take place till 1:17 left in the game when, Mt Brydges took the lead but a goal from Kyle Eisler, with assists from Josh Eidt and Curtis Dejong tied the game with 41 seconds left to go.  Mt Brydges would end the game 2 minutes into overtime.  Brent Smith played solid between the pipes.

Game 3 saw the Host team knock off our peewees by a score of 2-1.  The Hosts would jump out 1-0 early and then add a second goal at the mid way point in the 3rd.  However the Mitchell boys showed no quite as they made it close with 2 1/2 minutes to go in the game as Kase Schoonderwoerd would score with help from Solomon Koert and Eidt.  Again Reidy played a solid game in net.

Game 4 and the locals in a must win situation.  They played a see saw battle with a squad from Amherstburg.  Mitchell would fall behind 1-0 but would tie the game before the end of the first as Declan Catalan would score with an assist to MacArthur.  The game would end in a 1-1 tie even after overtime.

In league action the boys would get a split a 9-3 win over Saugeen Shores and a 2-1 loss in Milverton.  Versus Saugeen Shores a balanced attack, with Tweddle and Eisler having 2 goals and 1 assist each.  Koert with 2 goal, Prezcator and Catalan with a goal and an assist.

In Milverton the next night Catalans goal from Darren Feltz wouldn't be enough as the locals lost a tough one.
