Mitchell New Orleans PeeWee AE’s leading OMHA Finals Series 2-0
This past weekend the Mitchell New Orleans PeeWee AE’s
played Games 1 and 2 in the OMHA Finals series against the Durham Crusaders.
Using their home ice advantage Mitchell came out to win both Saturday and Sunday.
Game 1 on Saturday Mitchell had a strong first and second period fighting to keep the puck out of their home end. Solomon Koerts and Josh Eidt each had a goal, ending the second period 2-0 for Mitchell. Period 3 Durham put one point on the board with a nice wrap around goal while Mitchell tried to kill off one of their many penalties. Declan Catalan sent in Mitchell’s final goal on an empty net as Durham scrambled to gain an edge by pulling their goalie. Mitchell takes the win 3-1.
Sunday was a bit faster paced game with Durham getting the first goal of the game. It was clear the two teams were evenly matched as both teams moved up and down the ice trading control of the puck. Our boys worked hard right into the third period. Josh Eidt and Carter Preszcator sent in Mitchell’s first two goals with Declan Catalan sending home Mitchell’s winning goal. Mitchell takes Game 2 3-2. Greg Reidy was solid in net both games. Game 3 will be in Durham Saturday March 21 at 12:15. Thanks to all the fans who came out to support our home team!!
