Mitchell New Orleans Pizza Pee Wee AE’s take 2-1 lead in OMHA Semi-Finals Series
With a home ice advantage this past weekend the Mitchell New Orleans Pizza Pee Wee AE’s take a 2-1 lead in the best of five OMHA series against Ilderton.It was clear that Game 2 would not be easily won on Saturday night as Mitchell matched each goal sent in by its opponents. There were a number of close scrambles in front of our net but Greg Reidy stayed solid. Josh Eidt sent in Mitchell's first and last goals of the night with Carter Preszcator, Caleb Tweddle and Declan Catalan adding 3 more points for the 5-4 win.
Game 3 on Sunday was action packed with Ilderton trying to re-again control of the series. Solomon Koert finding an open net backhanded the puck in for Mitchell's first goal of the game. Kase Schoonderwoerd caught a nice rebound shot bringing Mitchell ahead 2-1 early in the third period. Caleb Tweddle came in alone after a turnover and backhanded Mitchell's winning goal just over the goalies pads. Declan Catalan sealed the deal with Mitchell's final goal of the game for a 4-2 win. Greg Reidy stopped a number of shots on net keeping Mitchell in the game.
The boys play Game 4 Thursday March 4, in Ilderton at 7:00pm. Come cheer us on!!
