Atom AE's Lose Heartbreaker Against BCH
The Thompsons Atom AE's were knocked out of the AE Playdowns on Thursday evening in Clinton as the BCH Ice Dogs scored a last minute power play goal to take the game, and the series. Neither team would be able to get on the scoreboard until the third period as both teams skated and battled hard for the puck leaving zeros on the board at the end of twenty minutes. Mitchell's goalie Joel Meinen was in top form and kept his team in the game turning away all shots that came his way.

BCH would score first with a quick goal early in the third period. The Meteors would persist and continue their battle for control of the puck with a never say die attitude. At the mid-point of the period Jack Miller would get a hold of the puck in Mitchell's end and skate it down ice, past the BCH defense to get a shot on net. The BCH goalie would send a rebound to the stick of a perfectly positioned Jaxen Hartwig who would bury the shot past the sprawling goalie. The Meteors would come close to scoring again with just over a minute left to play in the game, as the hustling Colby Ryan would fire a bullet off of the cross bar. Shortly after that the home side would take a 2-1 lead on a power play goal to round out the scoring. The Meteors would battle hard for the remaining seconds but would be unable to find the net.
