Meteors End Season With Shut Out Win
The Thompsons Atom AE Meteors played their final game of the season at home against the St. Marys Rock on Thursday night. The boys were looking to avenge a loss suffered to the same team last week and did not disappoint. The Meteors showed strong forechecking and were rewarded with a goal in the final seconds of the first period as Jack Miller knocked in a rebound shot fired in by Jake Crowley at the blue line.

The home team would score two more goals in the second period to take charge of the game with a convincing 3-0 lead. For his second goal of the night, Miller would take a pass from Bryce Otten and would beat the goalie on a top shelf shot. Just over a minute later Otten would find himself battling in front of the net with the St. Mary's defense, but would manage to get a shot away and add one more goal to cement the Meteors lead.

In the third period, both teams would keep up their speed and determination, but neither team would be able to score. Strong passing and offensive play by Brayden Glauser, Ryan Hubbard, Charlie Geiger, Jaxen Hartwig and Ethan Meinen would keep St. Mary's on their heels for most of the period. The Meteors defensive squad of Crowley, Noah Mann, Blake Redfern, Colby Ryan and goalie Joel Meinen would stand tall and shut down any offensive threat brought by St. Mary's to record the shut out win.

A big thank you goes out to our coaching staff Steve Geiger, Shawn Jordan, Steve Ryan, and Jim Crowley for a great year!
