The McLaughlin Chrysler Novice Rep team built off a strong
start at the Kincardine Sliver Stick Regionals and battled some fierce competition
to win their division. With the win the boys move on to the Silver Stick
Internationals in St. Clair, Michigan.
The boys took the momentum they built on day one and powered through the first two finals rounds defeating first Listowel in a 7-0 tilt then taking on the Kincardine Kinucks whom they had yet to defeat this season. With hard work and strong motivation to play in the finals, the boys were able to push a late third period goal to break the tie and move past Kincardine to play against Twin Centers for the Regional Championship. Mitchell again worked hard and focused on the task at hand as they controlled the play and were able to net a pair in the second period and another pair in the third as they drove for the win. But Twin Center refused to give up as they netted two late in the third, to add to their one earlier last period goal, to pull within one of Mitchell with only seconds left. But our Meteors defended and held back the late surge to both win the game and secure their trip to St. Clair. Well done boys, congratulations and good luck at Internationals!
