WOAA Twolan division finals
The McLaughlin Novice Rep boys capped off an amazing season of hockey Saturday evening bringing home the WOAA Twolan division championship.

Breezing past Saugeen Shores and Kincardine in the round robin Semi finals, Mitchell would go 4-0 and lock themselves a spot in the finals against an evenly matched Kincardine Kinucks.

The Meteors were sure to give their fans some excitement when it came to the finals, with three very close games, often with the outcome of the game up in the air until seconds before the final buzzer.

In game 3, Kincardine took the lead midway in the first period.  Jared Vosper would find the net for Mitchell with less than a minute left in the first, assisted by Brock Boville and Josh French, to try and close the frame tied up. Kincardine however, with just 7 seconds left in the first took back their lead.

The second period would bring Mitchell back to a tie as Vincent Voros netted his first of the game from Zach Houben and Jarrett Van Bakel.   Kincardine again would find the net early in the third and tried to put insurance on it with another goal with just under six minutes left to take a two goal lead.

The boys struggled, but with just under two minutes left they mustered the energy for a comeback drive.  Carson Harmer would cut Kincardines lead to one with assists from Vosper and Houben.  Voros would then add his second of the game with 50 seconds left on the clock to tie.  Harmer and Cole Baier would show their handwork on the assist.  With a tie game and less than a minute left the boys decided that they wanted to finish it instead of taking it into overtime.  With a mere 9.5 seconds left the same three that contributed to the tying goal would again work together and bury the winner earning Voros the hat trick and winning Mitchell the title.

Solid on the blueline all through the finals just as they were through the whole season Caleb Templeman, Rhett Terpstra and Daniel Ogilvie.

The 2014/2015 Mitchell Novice Rep Meteors proved, with their strong will and never say never attitude, that they really could do whatever they set their minds to.

Way to go Meteors!
