Regional Silver Stick Results
The Van Gerwen Sunlife Bantam LL took part in the South Huron Regional Silver Stick tournament this week, losing 4-0 in the semi-final to Lambeth.

Friday's play started with a game against North Middlesex. The Stars were able to score one early in the first to take a short lived lead. Mitchell was able to tie it up in the first with a goal by Jarrett Van Bakel, assisted by Ethan Meinen.  Later in the first Jake Crowley scored from the blue line assisted by Sam Huettlin and Ethan Meinen putting Mitchell ahead and they wouldn't trail again in the game. The second period saw Ethan Meinen score unassisted. In the third Ethan Dearing added to the lead as did Jarrett Van Bakel to make the final score 5-2.

Friday's second game had the Meteors take on the home town team of South Huron. The Sabres came out flying and skated to a 2-0 lead in the first period. The boys dug deep and tied up the game in the third with goals by Noah Mann and Andreas Harmer, assists going to  Ethan Meinen, Jake Crowley and James McCarthy. Then the Sabres were able to score 4 unanswered goals in the third period to take the win 6-2.

Game 3 Saturday evening was a must win game for the Meteors and the boys had the fans on the edge of their seats as the game remained scoreless through the first 2 periods. In the third period Jarrett Van Bakel broke free and scored twice, Petrolia was unable to answer back the Mitchell won 2-0, ensuring a semi-final game on Sunday morning. 

Early Sunday morning Mitchell met a strong Lambeth team who scored 2 goals in the first and 2 goals in the third, Mitchell had numerous shots but were unable to put anything past the Lambeth goalie, losing 4-0. The boys played hard against Lambeth and the defensive crew of Jake Crowley, Grayson Yost, Ethan Dearing, Liam Brodhagen, Logan Ruby and Daniel Ogilvie worked hard to minimize the chances on goalie Hayden Beuermann, but it just wasn't to be their day.

Next up is a league game in Clinton on Tuesday night.
