Meteors lose 3 close games over the weekend
The Lockhart Funeral Home Peewee C girls had a long busy week catch up with them as they came out on the losing end of 3 close games over the weekend.

Friday night the girls traveled to Stratford and faced the Aces. After a very busy week and playing on the large ice surface in Stratford, the girls had trouble responding to the Aces attack.  The Meteors fell to a 1-0 loss but goalie Ally Vogels was outstanding keeping the girls in it right to the end.

On Saturday they hosted St. Thomas which proved to be an exciting back and forth game.  The visitors struck first at 9:42 of the first and the score remained that way until 5:14 of the second when atom call up Abigayle VanBakel scored unassisted to tie the game.  St. Thomas regained the lead with 3:00 left in the period which led to an exciting 3rd period.  With goaltender Shawni DeJong making many spectacular saves to hold the Meteors close, Jade Huygen tied the game redirecting a pass from VanBakel at 6:05 of the third.  After many chances for both sides,  St. Thomas took the lead late in the third and held on for the win.

Sunday the girls hosted Kincardine in an exhibition game and fought hard coming out with a 2-0 loss.  Ally Vogels had a strong game in net keeping the game close.  All girls played well but were unable to score although generating some quality chances.
