Pair of Weekend Wins for Novice C Girls
Its a tight race for first place, as The Dodge Caravan Kids Novice C girls are tied with two other teams for top spot in their division.

Game one on Saturday in Monkton against the Ilderton Jets proved to be yet another close match-up for the Meteors. Both teams were stubborn in the net with neither team allowing a goal to be marked in the first period.  In the second period Mitchell would be first on the board with a nice goal by Selina Gethke from the top of the slot.  Gethke had another great chance in the third when she danced around the Jets’ defence and shot on net but was denied by the Jets goaltender.  The Novice Girls did not give up and were working hard for the insurance goal.  Their work was rewarded when Kayla Visneskie passed out front to a waiting Alise Crawford who made no mistake in potting the second and final goal of the game to give Ellie MacArthur the well earned 2-0 shutout victory.

Game two was exhibition play in Mount Forest on Sunday.  Coach Hannon mixed things up for the girls trying out different spots on the ice for them, but after a Rams goal in the first and the girls gravitating to their usual positions anyways, they were gradually put back where they were used to playing.  The second period had Mitchell bounce back with Kinslee Horans amazing one handed dive pass at centre ice to MacArthur who made no mistake in getting it by the Rams goalie.  Another goal in the second from a breakout scrum at the boards. Phoebe Wood and MacArthur helped release the puck to Gethke who marked the second goal for the girls. The third period saw seven goals scored in total. The Rams came out hard and scored three in a row on Danika Voros.  The Meteors regrouped and answered back with 4 goals. Leading the charge was Crawford from MacArthurs rebound, followed by Amelia Wolfkamp who banked one off the back of the goalie, Crawford from Martyna Hartwig, and the final goal would come from MacArthur assisted by Wood. It was a great team effort in the 6-4 comeback victory.
