Mitchell Tournament Results
The Bantam girls had their first tournament of the season the weekend of Oct 24 - their own Meteors tournament. The girls played extremely well, but fell a few goals short of making the finals.
On Thursday, the girls faced the Lucan Irish. The Meteors fell to the Irish by a score of 3-0. Victoria Hahn played a strong game in goal, trying to keep the Meteors in it.
On Friday, the girls played the game of the year (to date). I'm not quite sure what the coaches communicated to the girls before the game, but the entire team came out flying. It was awesome. The Meteors prevailed 3-1, with goals from Faith Binns, Chloe Bannon, and Ryley Jacobs.
In a do or die game 3 on Saturday morning, the girls again came out flying and tried to take advantage of an early power play. In a game that saw the action and pressure shift from end to end, the girls were narrowly defeated by a score of 2-1. The lone goal scorer was Rebekkah (not sure how many k's are supposed to be in there) Phibbs.
Thanks to all that worked hard to make the tournament a big success.
Also, thanks to the Stephan's for hosting the candy kabob assembly party. The girls had fun, and it was another great team building experience.
