Tru Country & Garden Novice Girls heading to the Finals!
The Tru Country & Garden Novice girls played their second game of the tournament this morning against the undefeated Wilmot Wolverines.

The game started at a face past that continued throughout the entire game.  Wilmot opened the scoring four minutes into the first period to get an early lead.  The second period was a mirror of the first with both teams battling hard only this time Kara Rolph was able to score for Mitchell assisted by Danielle Harmer and Rachel Haefling.  With Grace Kipfer between the pipes the girls were able to keep this nail bitter of a game tied going into the third.  The third period was a barn burner, hard skating and aggressive hockey was played by both teams.  With 3:52 left in the period, Heather Ogilvie delivered a well place shot from the point beating the Wolverine's goalie for the game winning goal.  The Wolverines were not going to give up, and again Grace Kipfer had to come up with some stellar saves to not give up the lead.  Danielle Harmer gave the coaches and fans some relief scoring the insurance goal with 1:29 left in the third, assisted by Rolph and Haefling.  Wilmot pulled their goalie in the last minute of regular time but still were unable to get the puck past our hard working defense.  Final score was Mitchell 3 Wilmot 1.

This was the best, most aggressive game that the girls have played yet this season.  Well Done!!

The tournament finals for all the marbles, will be Sunday at 12:30 in Mitchell.

Come out and cheer us on!!!
