Midget Reps Crowned B-Champs in Palmerston
The Meteors won the B-Division Championship Saturday in their tournament in Palmerston with a respectable 2-1 record and nine goals in 3 games.

Mitchell struggled out of the gate with a 2-0 loss to Minto early in the morning. Mitchell had twice as many penalty minutes as Minto with 24 in the game. Despite the loss, goaltender - Dan Skinner played tremendous in net, making a number of key saves to keep the Meteors within reach.
The loss sent Mitchell to the B Division of the tournament. Mitchell squared off against Stayner in their second game and quickly dominated taking a commanding 3-0 lead into the third period with a goal by Ben Davey assisted by Joe McCarthy and Sam Skinner, and two by Jordan Mabb unassisted. Halfway through the third, Stayner scored to end Scott Herbert’s shutout of two and a half periods. A few minutes later Stayner added a second to draw within one with a few minutes left to play. With the Stayner net empty, Trevor Skinner fed Mabb along the boards who turned and fired it down the ice to complete his hat trick and secure the win for Mitchell.
In the championship game, Mitchell started off with another quick lead with two unassisted goals by McCarthy and Mabb. However, Bruce Peninsula would respond with two goals to tie things up at two. With smart and disciplined play, the Meteors were able to add 3 more to win the game and the B-Divison title. Devon Schinbein scored two and McCarthy added his second of the night and added two assists along with Evan Chaffe and Owen Smith. The game was also highlighted by a number of great hits by forward Brett Adair as the Meteors managed to get through the game without a trip to the penalty box.
The Meteors played very well defensively with strong hits and great clearing plays by defencemen Josh Taylor, Jordan Eggleton and call up LukenVan Pelt. The Meteors were unfortunately overwhelmed with injuries arriving at the tournament three short due to injuries and adding another two, Chris Bernard and Jordan Mabb. Mabb skated Sunday night with the team and may start Wednesday when the team travels to Brussels. However, Bernard will likely miss the next couple weeks with a knee injury.
