Mitchell snapped a 5 game losing streak Sunday night when they defeated Listowel 2-1 at home.
Devon Schinbein opened the scoring for the Meteors with a great shot five hole on an unassisted play. This was the only period Mitchell out shot the Cyclones.
After the second period Dan Skinner had made 15 of his 29 saves of the night keeping his team in it. But just 18 seconds into the final frame Listowel managed to put a goal past Skinner. After 10 minutes of a tied hockey game, Evan Chaffe scored the game winner with 1:20 left in the period, set up beautifully by Devon Schinbein and Joe McCarthy. The Meteors would hold off the Cyclones to win the game, their first since October 30th.
Mitchell has the entire week off before they play Saugeen next Sunday at home.
