Chaffe Nets Two in Loss
The Meteors lost their fifth in a row against South Bruce with a score of 4-2. It was a big improvement from their 5-1 loss to them a few weeks prior. With Mitchell being plagued with injuries and suspensions, they had only 10 skaters and 2 goalies.

After Mitchell allowed the opening goal of the game just five minutes in, Joe McCarthy made a great pass out front to Evan Chaffe who put it past the net minder for his first of the night tying the game at 1. Just a few minutes later Chaffe scored his second of the night with an assist from Jordan Eggleton.
The Midgets held the lead until midway through the second, when a South Bruce winger slipped it past Scott Herbert. They would go on to add another with just 17 seconds left to take back the lead from Mitchell.
Halfway through the final frame South Bruce added their fourth goal of the game putting Mitchell behind two. With under three minutes to go in the game South Bruce took two penalties within a minute of each other setting up a 5 on 3 power play for Mitchell. Unfortunately the Meteors could not generate enough offense, and when Herbert was pulled for the extra attacker there were a number of scrambling plays in front of the empty net.
Mitchell has 4 days off before they face Listowel at home Sunday night hoping to snap their losing streak before they head into Silver Stick coming up in two weeks.
