The Dodge Caravan Kids Novice AE Meteors grabbed a win in their game Friday night against the Drives in Milverton. The Drives scored midway in the first to take the lead, but Mitchell stayed strong and was able to tie things back up in the second as Vincent Voros scored assisted by Lucas Roobroeck and Evan O’Rourke. Both the Drives and Meteors continued to play an action packed and fast paced game while Mitchell’s goalie Andreas Harmer made some fantastic saves to keep things tied.
But the game was far from over, the Meteors scored early in the third as Josh French took a great pass from Roobroeck and flipped a wrist shot right over the left pad of Milverton’s goaltender. The Drives answered back quickly and slipped one past to tie back up, but Voros could not be stopped as Caleb Templeman started the scoring play with a pass to Preston Porter who got the puck to Voros’ stick for the goal. Milverton pushed hard to tie back up as they pulled their goalie with a minute and a half left, but all the Meteors worked hard defensively to stave off the Drives and grab the 3-2 win. Mitchell will have only a short rest as they play Saturday afternoon in Zurich.
