The
U15 Scotiabank team played against TCDMHA Rebels at home on Friday December 2,
2022. The lines were evenly matched,
with the Meteors almost back to full roster.
Hudson Porter
found the net in the first few minutes of the game with a quick pass from Owen
Beuermann, and Joel Hogger. TCDMHA fought their way back, to tie up the game. In
the second period Catalan tipped the puck in the net to give Mitchell the lead. Mitchell was able to capitalize in the second
period with two power play goals. Grady
Smith, assisted by Cole Broughton and Rogan Catalan scored, assisted by Will
McKee. By the third period, Mitchell was
ahead by 4-2, but would start the period shorthanded. That is when the Rebels capitalized and snuck
one passed McCann. With both teams
fighting for the win, Caden Diehl scored the game winning goal at 8:57 assisted
by Grady Smith and Will McKee. Final score 5-4 Mitchell. The boys would then head back to the Rebels
home ice Saturday for a rematch.
After a good night’s sleep, the boys traveled
to Markdale for an afternoon game. Aiden
McCann recorded his first shutout, and the boys were on fire. The first period, Caden Diehl, scored within
minutes, assisted by Max Hannon and Grady Smith. Adam Hunt found the back of the net assisted
by Jack Crowley. Max Hannon finished the period with a goal. The defense was a solid wall for the second
period. Cole Broughton found the net
near the end of the period. The third
period found Mitchell playing shorthanded, but still able to add to the score
board, Grady Smith scored unassisted and Max Hannon scored, assisted by Smith. Final for the game was 6-0 for the Meteors.
The boys will travel to Seaforth Monday
evening at 8:00p m and then back home on Friday night against Mount Forest.
