Game 16 vrs Minto Mad Dogs
Tuesday Night the U15 Rep Scotia Bank Mitchell Meteors welcomed the Minto Mad Dogs in their second match up of the regular season. In their first match, Mitchell and Minto battled to a 3 to 3 tie. This game would turn out to be just as exciting as their last match-up.
Minto would open the scoring early at 14:42 of the first period, but Ethan Jarmuth (Asst Bryce Dixon) would tie the game up shortly after to end the period tied at 1 each.
The second period would see Minto come out strong again with two more goals (9:23, 8:11) to take a 3 to 1 lead. Max Hannon (Asst Ryan Glauser, Zack Siemon-Hergott) would add a goal to cut their lead down to 3 to 2. Then with 15 seconds left in the second Minto would score to regain a 2 goal lead.
In the third period, the Meteors turned it on and with lots of pressure and majority of play in Minto's end, Zack Siemon-Hergott (unassisted) would score to bring the Meteors within one. However, despite Mitchells strong play Minto would add a goal at 10:58 to regain their 2 goal lead. Ben Kelly (Asst Cohen Ahrens) would let a rocket go from the point to score at 4:37 on a power play. Mitchell would go on to put in a tremendous effort but would lose this one 5 to 4.
Next Sunday, January 22nd, 2023 the Mitchell Meteors will travel to Clinton to take on the Mid-Huron Huskies at 4:30pm.
