Art Coombs Memorial Tournament
The U15 Rep Mitchell Meteors entered the Art Coombs Memorial Tournament over the weekend in Paris Ontario.  The Meteors drew Huron-Bruce Blizzard, Wallaceburg Lakers and the Lambeth Lancers.

In game one versus the Blizzard the Meteors would come out flat and have two(2) goals scored against in the first period at 4:52 and 1:44.  The second period would be stronger played as neither the Meteors or Blizzard would find the back of the net.  The third period would see the Blizzard add to their lead with4:52 remaining.  Ethan Jarmuth would break the shut out at 1:51 with assists coming from Zach Siemon-Hergott and Matthew Menheere.
Game two would have an 8:00am start against the Wallaceburg Lakers and Mitchell would start out strong.  At 5:39 of the first period Mitchell would strike first as Charlie Wolfe would find Logan Verberne out front (2nd assist on play to Bryce Dixon).  The second period would see Mitchell add to the lead at 8:35 as Ethan Jarmuth would find the net (unassisted).  However, Wallaceburg would counter on both powerplays at 5:52 and 0:07 to tie the game at 2 to 2.
The third period would see Bryce Dixon (asst., Matthew Menheere) regain the Meteors lead.  But the lead would evaporate with three more Meteors penalties as Wallaceburg would score at 4:05 and the game wining goal at 0:21 for a 4 to 3 loss.
The third and final game of the tournament would see Mitchell's strongest effort of the tournament as they would get many shots on net and take fewest penalties of the tournament.  Despite outplaying the Lancers and many game play improvements, Mitchell would play to a 0 to 0 tie.
The Meteors will travel to the Palmerston Arena Tuesday, December 6th for a regular season game match against the Minto Mad Dogs.
