4-0 win for Mitchell Meteors U13 LL
The Mitchell Meteors U13 LL team, sponsored by Mark Bannon Backhoe Service, were back on the ice Sunday night to take on the Wingham Ironmen at home.
Although there was a lot of back-and-forth action in the first period, both teams remained scoreless.
Simon Jenson put Mitchell on the board with an unassisted goal part way through the second period. The second goal came just over a minute later when Michael Coyne passed the puck over to Trayton Keyser, who passed it back to Coyne to one-time it past the Wingham goaltender. Brayden Baxter stole the puck away from an opposing player and snuck it between the posts. Dylan Dietrich ended the second period with a goal, assisted by Keyser, to make the score 4-0.
The goalies got a workout in the third period, but another scoreless period, meant a 4-0 win for the Mark Bannon Backhoe Mitchell Meteors U13 LL team. The shutout was shared between Landon Glauser and Taitum Vessie who both played a strong game in net.
The Mitchell Meteors U13 LL team are off to Collingwood this weekend to compete in a regional Silverstick tourney.
