Mitchell Meteors U13 Rep Team sponsored by Hoegy's Farm Supply Grinds Through Tier 1 Playoffs to the WOAA finals
After starting their playoff run with 2 wins and three losses, the U13 Meteors knew they would need to string together solid effort and play to advance to the WOAA finals in Tier 1

That path started with a solid 3 to 0 win over Mid Huron Huskies.  The Meteors would control the game once Wes Berendsen and Bryson Eickmeyer would open up the scoring early in the second to take a 2 to 0 lead.  Tyler Burtenshaw would round out the scoring while adding 2 assists while Cam Dietz, Ray Wolfe and Cole Templeman would add single helpers.  Goaltender Carter Harris would close the door on the Huskies earning the shutout win.

Next, the team would face West Grey / Hanover Warriors on Mar 4th in Mitchell.  Ray Wolfe would be the lone scorer (assisted by Blake Otten) as the Meteors would battle hard but losing 3 to 1 after a Warriors empty net goal.

With a 3 win and 4 loss playoff record the Meteors knew they would have to sweep the final 3 games for a chance to advance to the finals.
These three playoff games would fall in three consecutive nights for the Meteors.

At home March 6th, they hosted the Listowel Cyclones, who earlier in the round robin handed the Meteors a 2 to 1 loss.  The locals stormed out to a dominate effort and controlled the play from start to finish in an impressive 7 to 1 victory.  Offensively Eickmeyer lead the way with a 4 point night (1g,3a), while Ray Wolfe (1g,2a) and Burtenshaw (2g,1a) would tally 3 points each.  Berendsen, Lincoln Laverty, and Tyler Verberne would all score in the victory.  Rearguards Dietz, Otten and Sean Gibbings would add assists as would forward Logan Montgomery.

The following night in Clinton the team would build off the win and jump up on Mid Huron with the first two goals.  The Huskies would hang around in this game and score the next two before the Meteors could resecure the lead and finish a 4 to 3 win.  Burtenshaw would lead with a 4 point night (2g,2a), while Otten and Laverty would add a goal each.  Connor Wolfe would add an assist to round out the offense, while fellow defenseman Lukas DeJong would have a strong defensive game.

In their third game in as many nights the U13 Meteors would head to Durham needing yet another win to secure a trip to the final series.  In a close checking game, West Grey / Hanover  would strike first on a power play mid way through the second.  Just seconds after Ray Wolfe's shot hit the post from the slot, he would circle back and find the back of the net to get Mitchell on the board with assists going to Burtenshaw and Otten.  The teams would head to the third deadlocked at 1 each.  After some back and forth action, winger Verberne would tip a Dietz shot from the point to give the Meteors the lead.  Two way forward Max Brodhagen would contribute with solid back check throughout the game.  Goalie Harris would make some key saves late in the game until Eickmeyer would steal a puck from a pressing Warriors team and skate down to put in the empty netter to seal a hard fought 3 to 1 win.

The Meteors will now face Kincardine in the final WOAA series with the winner advancing to the OMHA Championship Tournament.
