The Ace Garden Centre U13 Meteor girls headed to
Chatham Sunday morning to take on the Crush in Division one playoff action.
Chatham got on the board first to take the lead in the game,
but strong teamwork displayed by the Meteors, led to the score being tied at 1
with a rifled shot from the blueline by Kinslee Horan. Before the first period
ended Chatham would once again take the lead.
Heading into the second period, the Crush snuck another goal in. Before
the close of the second period, Elena Hogger took the opportunity to stretch her
legs on the large ice surface and ripped one past the Crush netminder to lessen
the gap.
Ally VanBakel closed the net for the rest of the game in
hopes her teammates could even the score, but the Meteors ran short on time and
the game ended in a 3-2 loss. Despite the loss, it was a well played game.
