Ace Garden Centre Meteors defeat St. Marys Rock in regular season play
Danica Voros and Sophia VanNes teamed up for
both Meteor goals, which were almost identical in nature.
VanNes made two great centering passes right on the tape of
Voros who was waiting at the crease and one-timed both passes into the net. Strategic
passing and breakout lessons during practices paid off and were exhibited well throughout
game. Defensive team of Kinslee Horan, Ella Sills, Casey Crowley and Elena Hogger,
did a great job of defending. Ally VanBakel made some key saves during the game,
earning the 2-0 shutout victory.
The Meteors suffered a loss vs.Wingham in exhibition play. It was a great team effort by the U13 Ace Garden Centre
Girls in a 4-1 loss over a strong Wingham team. Wingham was on the board with
the first two goals of the game, but the Meteors persisted and were rewarded
with a goal from Danica Voros, assisted by Lucy Mahon. Wingham replied with two
more unanswered goals to take the win over the Meteors.
