Listowel Tournament
The MacDonald Valumart U11s capped their season off with some exciting games this past weekend in Listowel.

The team had a solid start on Friday morning vs. the Listowel Cyclones and came out with a 7-2 win. Schoonderwoerd and Dietrich were top scorers with two apiece.  Crawford, Burtenshaw, Broughton added singles.

Later on Friday the U11s faced off against the Fort Erie Junior Meteors.  A close game in the first and second but bit by bit Mitchell found their stride and triumphed 7-4.  Crawford led in goals this time with Wolfe, Ulch, Schoonderwoerd, Burtenshaw and Havens each grabbing a goal.  Great net minding by Jack Laverty.

Early Saturday they faced the Bruce Peninsula Predators and brought home a 13-0 win.  Lots of teamwork, passing and offensive play.

Three wins brought the team to the semis where they met up with the Tavistock Titans.  One goal for each team in the first period was the only goal scoring action for the rest of the game.  Tied at the end, with Broughton to thank for the solo goal sent the U11s off to 5 minutes of OT play.  In 3 on 3 OT action, Tavistock found the net first on a breakaway.  A disappointing end, but a group dinner reservation at Crabby's helped everyone bounce back.

The U11s and their coaches have lots to be proud of through this weekend's tournament play!
