U15 Girls Finish Up Exhibition Schedule Undefeated
The Mitchell Lockhart Funeral Home U15 Meteor Girls went 5-0 in exhibition play, completing their pre-season schedule with a 3-1 road win over Huron Heat in Blyth on October 21st.
Josie Walker opened the scoring for the locals late in the first, finishing off a tic-tac-toe that started with a shot from the blueline by Alexis Gettler, also assisted by Brooklyn French. After a scoreless second, Gettler added her own goal early in the third, depositing another point shot into the top corner assisted by Haileigh Templeman. Rachel Haefling would add the insurance goal moments later, assisted by French. The Heat would score in the late seconds of the final period to spoil the shutout for goaltender Alissa Insley.
Regular season play begins October 27th with the Meteors hosting the West Oxford Inferno at 7:00pm.
