Pair of weekend wins in Playoff Action
The U11 Ace Garden Centre Meteors came out hard against the Woodstock Wildcats Saturday afternoon on home ice.

Unfortunately the Wildcats were just as hungry for a win. The two teams have had a very close games so far this season, and this game would be no different. The first period ended scoreless for either side. Ally VanBakel made a great breakaway save in the second period to keep her team in the game, and despite a Wildcats penalty, the period remained scoreless as well. Both teams pressed on in the third with Woodstock racking up two more penalties. It wasn’t until the final minute of the game when Danica Voros passed to Emma Upshall to pot the game winner. Kudos to the defensive squad of Kinslee Horan, Callie VanLoon, Charlee Weesjes, and Casey Crowley for their fantastic efforts on the blueline in the 1-0 win.

Sundays Game in Stratford took a bit to warm up, but once it did, there was no looking back. Voros netted the first goal, and in case there was any doubt, let out a huge cheer to alert the the fans that it crossed the goal line. The second period had three more goals added by the Meteors. Martyna Hartwig made a nice pass up to Upshall, who in turn got the puck to Dani Vosper who made no mistake finding the net. The next came from a perfectly positioned Upshall to take advantage of Horans rebound shot. The final goal of the period on a nice passing play from Sophia VanNes to Amelia Wolfkamp. The final goal of the game was a pass by Voros from behind the net to Vosper who confidently beat the Aces goalie, marking the 5-0 win over the Stratford Aces, as well as VanBakels second shutout of the weekend. Great teamwork and excellent passing plays, made the game a pleasure to watch.
