The first period was quite exciting to watch with
plenty of great back and forth action against the Woodstock
Wildcats.
Despite all efforts, the period ended scoreless for either side.
More back and forth action in the second period but Mitchell was able to capitalize first with a goal from Emma Upshall assisted by Caley Michels and Danica Voros. Woodstock was able to tie up the game before the period ended to even the score at one.
Both teams eager to get the win, kept pressing hard, but it was the Meteors that were rewarded once again with a pass from Martyna Hartwig to Upshall, then passed up to an open Michels who proceeded to the net and lifted one over the Wildcats goalie into the net. It was looking like another goal coming for Mitchell, when Charlee Weesjes wove her way up the ice, but was foiled by a close offside call. Woodstock had many great scoring opportunities but were unable to get another past Ally VanBakel. As usual the defense team of Kinslee Horan, Ella Sills, Casey Crowley, Callie VanLoon and Weesjes did their best to help bolster the 2-1 win. Great team effort.
