Let the Playoffs Begin
Mitchell Scotiabank U15 LL played their first playoff game
on home ice Sunday, February 13th. Blindsided by a speedy breakaway,
Wingham would put the first goal on the board 6.5 minutes into play. Both
teams proved they weren't letting down their guards easily in the first.
With 3 minutes left, Rogan saw Max, from behind the net, who dug that
puck in. A well deserved first goal for Mitchell. 1 minute later on
a breakaway, Logan would put Mitchell ahead 2-1 heading into the second period.
The second would prove to be a battle much like the first, but that was not going to stop Mitchell. Griffin would set up Cohen at the blue line to slap that puck straight through the crowd and into the back of the net! Wingham came back battling and after digging the puck they saw their second and last goal of the night. Ending the second like the first with 2 minutes left, Ryan would see the top shelf keeping Mitchell with a 2 goal lead. The third period started off with Colby setting up Logan for his second goal of the night. Both goalies would fight hard, making amazing saves and ultimately shutting down any further goals in the game. Strong win to start the playoffs boys! Keep the momentum going!
