On Sunday
Nov 21st, the Scotia Bank U15 LL boys were on home ice against
Huron-Bruce Blizzard. The scoreless first period was not an indication of
boring play. Far from it. It was fast-paced with each team battling
hard trying to find the first goal. With the first period ending without
a score, the fight and exciting action continued into the second to see who
would get on the board first.
Huron-Bruce would claim the first goal of the night, 4 minutes into the second, after some amazing stops from goal tender Keegan M. With Mitchell down by 1, this lit a fire under the boys resulting in some amazing team work which eventually saw Ryan K finding the top shelf to tie the game. With a penalty in the works, team work was key. Griffin B saw the opportunity to sneak past the Huron-Bruce team with Logan V in hot pursuit. Team work would ultimately be the deciding factor to Logan V adding a short handed goal to the score board – assisted by Griffin B.
The Third period would be quite the battle, much like the first, with both teams eager to take home the win. Ryan K was on fire notching 2 more goals & adding another Hat trick to his belt – with assists coming from Jonah G and Brody S, respectively. A great action-packed game for spectators. Keep the fire going boys!
