U15 Reps Bounced In Semi's At Regional Silverstick
The Scotiabank 15U Meteor Reps competed in the Roy Caley Memorial U13/U15 Silverstick Tournament in Watford on December 16-19th, and were eliminated in the semi-finals after dropping a 3-2 decision to the Prince Edward County Kings.

Hoping to avenge an earlier loss to the Kings in round robin play, things didn't start out so well for the locals as they gave up the opening goal 9 seconds into the game.  Held scoreless in the first period, Charlie Geiger tied the game midway through the second set up by Hayden Nicholson.  Momentum quickly shifted 40 seconds later when Ryan Hubbard knocked in a rebound from a Jacob Dietrich shot to take a 2-1 lead.  Prince Edward County would tie the game early in the third, and scored the heartbreaking powerplay goal with 7 seconds remaining to advance to the finals where they were defeated later that day by the champion Ilderton Jets.
The Meteors opened tournament play on Thursday afternoon with a 4-3 win over the Petrolia Oilers.  Special teams was firing on all cylinders, as Dietrich scored consecutive powerplay goals late in the first period and midway through the second period.  Ryan Glauser, Carter O'Brien, and Hubbard would draw assists.  Late in the second period, the Oilers would find the net with a buzzer-beater with 0:01 remaining.  Feeding off of this momentum, the Oilers stormed back with two quick goals in the third to take a 3-2 lead.  One minute later on a pass from O'Brien, Nicholson would deposit a blueline slapshot into the top corner to tie the game.  After Dietrich drew a Petrolia interference penalty on a breakaway, Bryce Otten took advantage with a game-winning powerplay goal from Geiger to finish up the 4-3 win.
Game two's first meeting with Prince Edward County was set for Friday afternoon, and the Meteors worked hard but ultimately fell 2-0 with an empty-netter in a tough battle.
Seeded 4th after going 1-1, the locals would face Ingersoll Express on Saturday afternoon in an elimination game, well aware of their 12-2-1 record atop the standings in the Southern Counties league.  With one of their best overall team efforts of the year, the Meteors would defeat the Express, eliminating them from the tournament and moving on to Sunday morning's semi-final.  The final score was 2-0 on goals by Nicholson and Geiger, supported with assists recorded by Kellen Russwurm, Zack Siemon-Hergott, and Hubbard.
