U13LL Meteors Come Alive!
On Saturday, the Legion Branch 128 U13LL team traveled to Wingham where they suffered a tough 5-4 OT loss. Wingham opened the scoring with Mitchell quickly responding on a nice goal by Dylan Dietrich. In the second period, Wingham takes the lead but then Nolan Rolph got them back with an sniper goal from the centre line (was called offside by the ref). Not getting down, Nolan went end-to-end and scored a beauty goal that tied it up. Quaide Hoskin scores twice off of great assists from Dietrich. Luke Krempien had a solid game on defence but despite their efforts, Mitchell couldn’t quite hang on to the lead. Wingham would score twice in the third period to tie it up and again in OT to take the win.

On Sunday, Mitchell hosted Seaforth. After a scoreless first period, Seaforth scored on the power play to take the lead, followed by a quick second goal. Seaforth scored again in the third period to win it 3-0. Michael Coyne and Brayden Baxter had a great game on defence and once again, Sebastian Voros was solid in net.

Last game in February the Drayton Defenders hosted Mitchell. What an exciting and physical game! The first period saw lots of back and forth and excellent passing from Max Brodhagen, Michael Coyne, and Brayden Baxter to keep Drayton on their toes. At 4:16 there was a scrum in front of the Drayton net, lots of aggressive pressure and finally Liam Coyne (U11 player) puts it past making it 1-0! Mitchell scored again at 12:09 in the 2nd period with a beauty end-to-end rush from Carter McAsh. Lots of chances and an ugly bodychecking penalty from Drayton shows their frustration. They just can't find any weakness in Sebastian Voros' netminding. At 7:31 in the 3rd period they scored on a breakaway that just squeaked past...then with the Drayton goalie pulled, Mitchell holds the line and they finish with a 2-1 score, well done Mitchell!
