Blyth Road Trip
The Mark Bannon Backhoe U11LL's went on the road to Blyth, December 4th to capture a 4-1 win against the Blyth Brussels Crusaders Black team.
Mitchell come out strong from the opening face off. Luke Linton making some great attempts to get the opening goal along with a slap shot from the point from Cole Ulch yet Blyths goal tender was able to keep it just this side of the goal line. The second period the boys kept the push on, while deep in the zone a solid pass from Liam Coyne to Daxton Baker would get one in, giving Mitchell the first goal half way through the second. Mitchell kicked it into second gear right off the face off with Baker winning the face off carrying the puck in taking a shot on net leaving a rebound there for Ethan Schoonderwoerd ready to fire it in for the second goal. Moving into the third period with 2-0 lead, Blyth was ready to fight back, Landon Glauser making key saves kept our boys fired up. Jack Lelappaars stopped a near break away, getting the puck, sending a pass over the Baker who made an end to end rush getting our third goal. Mitchell still holding pressure in the later half of the third saw Luke Linton sending the puck over to Dani Bree for the forth goal. Blyth never letting up snuck one in making the final score 4 1 Mitchell.
Next game Dec 11th will be on the road in Seaforth.
