What a week for the Walkom’s Valumart U11s! Coming off a 2-0 shut out in Goderich on Tuesday night, Taitum Vessie showed his dependability in net during tonight’s action vs Drayton. The Walkom’s Valumart U11s battled it out right to the last minute of play. The first two periods saw no goals, lots of shots, and impressive netminding by Vessie. After letting one Drayton goal sneak by early in the third, Logan Broughton lit it up to even the score and capture the first Mitchell goal of the game. Defence Deni Beaudin, Lincoln Laverty, Tyler Verberne and Aiden Crawford keep the puck out of Mitchell’s end and gave the forwards lots of opportunities for offensive play. With two minutes of play left in the third, Verberne found the net which left Mitchell in the lead. After a timeout, Drayton pulled their goalie but Mitchell fought hard, prevailed and Verberne once again found the net to win 3-1. Way to go team!
