MCR advanced Collision Centre Atom LL Meteors squad took part in Silver stick international in Pelham Ontario this past weekend. The team earned their spot to play in this tournament when they won the regional qualifier in November  in Collingwood.

Meteors started off with a band on thursday morning as they took on Pelham home team and defeating them 16-0. Meteors dominated in every aspect of the game from shots, to plays and goal tending they set the tone. All the teams passing and teamwork carried over into the next game. Their second game Meteors were faced against an evenly matched team Thornton Tigers. We saw our defense moving in when they had the chance to take spots, and our forwards were skating like fire to come back and help out if needed. Our netmenders kept us in there with some key saves at crucial points of the game. One total team package out there on the ice. Meteors fought hard but came up short by one goal in a 2-1 loss that game.
Friday morning the team faced Howard Huskies from Maryland Columbia. Meteors knew it be a tough game but were determined. Both teams traded goals throughout the game but Meteors put up the last goal winning the game 3-2 advancing to quarter finals.
In quarter finals Meteors faced their toughest challenge Orange county from San jose California. The team played hard but came up short in the end being defeated 6-0 by Orange County.
This team continues to make coaches and parents proud with all the efforts and strong sportsmanship shown throughout the tournament and year so far. Couldn't be more proud how Atom LL team  was confident and competitive while representing  our home town. Coaches and parents highlight of the weekend was seeing the team put their best effort forward and fantastic job in this tournament.
