WOAA Playoffs continue
The VanGerwin Bantam LL Meteors had a busy 3 game week in LL playoff action.

Game one was against BCH Ice Dogs #2 that had the two teams in a defensive battle that held till late in the game when Grayson Yost made a trademark end to end rush that potted the Meteors the winner. Hayden Beuermann with the shut out.

Game 2 was in Goderich Saturday afternoon. Mitchell had first period goal from Noah Mann off a nice pass from Grayson Yost and in second period Brock Boville scores from Jarret VanBakel. Sailors got one in the second as well and came on hard to tie game in third period but Meteors answered back in the third with a solo effort by Jake Crowley to stick handle through the Sailors and a quick hard shot that got the lead back to Mitchell for good. The Goderich team kept coming but solid team wide defense held them off the score sheet any further. Our Meteors netted a forth - an empty netter thanks to Jaxon Hartwig assited by Liam Brodhagen. Well done Boys!

Game 3 was Sunday evening in Mitchell against the Central Perth Predators. The game was pretty evenly matched through the first period and well into the second when the visitors opened the score on a redirected shot. Not a minute later and Mitchell answered back with a hard drive to the net by Jarret VanBakel who put the puck up and over the shoulder of the big Predator goalie. Assist by Grayson Yost. Meteors gained control in the game 5 minutes later with some more nifty moves and puck control by Brock Boville who fed Jarret Vanbakel gaining the lead for Mitchell. Late in the second frame Mitchell was up by two with a goal from Ethan Meinen assisted by Yost and Jeromy Vandewalle. Our Meteors seemed in control of the game until halfway through the third period when Central Perth scored to make it a one goal game which in turn gave them the spark and kept the fans on both sides at their seat edge for the rest of the game. The defense was led by goalie Hayden Beurermann who was super sharp and held on to the puck to keep rebounds at bay. The forwards did well on the face-offs and defense cleared the puck in killing a late penalty and being down by two with the empty Predator net. Final score Mitchell 3, Central Perth 2. Go Meteors!
