Drayton and Huron Bruce Action
This week saw two road games Vs Drayton and Huron Bruce.
Friday night in Drayton had 1st period goals by Brock Boville (unassisted) and followed by goal by Sam Huettlin assisted from Jarret VanBakel. Visitors added a single. Second period had Defenders score two vs Mitchells single by James McCarthy assists from Logan Nugent and Jake Crowley. Third period had its share of action but not in form of the scoresheet so this tilt ended in a draw. Onto next one boys!
Sunday had a trip up to Ripley for a matinee against the Huron Bruce Blizzard. Meteors came out with first period goal by Jarret VanBakel assested by Sam Huettlin and Grayson Yost. A little over a minute later Logan Nugent potted an unassisted marker to get a 2-0 lead before the home team got on board late in the period. Goal of the game came in second frame - a beauty shot ripped off the hot stick of Sam Huetllin which found the inside of the post and ping-ponged to the other so fast it could have been a Meteor. Why, it was a Meteor, a Mitchell Meteor! Assists again from VanBakel and Yost. VanBakel got one of his own to close out the second period assisted from Huettlin. Third period saw the home team get one back only to have Mitchell answer again in form of Andreas Harmer from James McCarthy and Nugent. The team was short today but the defense of Ruby and Brodhagen, Ogilvie and Yost along with tender Beuermann held the home team to just two goals.
