The Van Gerwen Sunlife Bantam LL took part in the South Huron Regional Silver Stick tournament this week, losing 4-0 in the semi-final to Lambeth.

Friday's play started with a game against North Middlesex. The Stars were able to score one early in the first to take a short lived lead. Mitchell was able to tie it up in the first with a goal by Jarrett Van Bakel, assisted by Ethan Meinen.  Later in the first Jake Crowley scored from the blue line assisted by Sam Huettlin and Ethan Meinen putting Mitchell ahead and they wouldn't trail again in the game. The second period saw Ethan Meinen score unassisted. In the third Ethan Dearing added to the lead as did Jarrett Van Bakel to make the final score 5-2.

Early Sunday morning Mitchell met a strong Lambeth team who scored 2 goals in the first and 2 goals in the third, Mitchell had numerous shots but were unable to put anything past the Lambeth goalie, losing 4-0. The boys played hard against Lambeth and the defensive crew of Jake Crowley, Grayson Yost, Ethan Dearing, Liam Brodhagen, Logan Ruby and Daniel Ogilvie worked hard to minimize the chances on goalie Hayden Beuermann, but it just wasn't to be their day.
