Peewee girls show no rust after Christmas break
The J.P. Uniac Insurance Peewee B girls were back on the ice over the weekend and came away with 2 wins increasing their lead in league play.

On Saturday the girls traveled to Embro to take on the West Oxford Inferno and came out strong showing no ill effects from the break jumping out to a 2-0 lead before the first period was over.  Haileigh Templeman opened the scoring  with a blistering wrist shot from just inside the blue line with an assist going to Andrea Kelly.  Jade Huygen followed up by taking a puck from an offensive zone faceoff and burying a quick shot with another assist going to Kelly.  Ashley McLeod made it 3-0 after a nice play off the boards to exit our zone then carried down the ice and went 5 hole with a hard shot.  Ally Vogels stood strong making some nice saves to preserve the lead as the Meteors came out with a 3-1 win.
On Sunday girls hosted a Belmont team that were right behind us in the standings and it proved to be an even and exciting game.  Mitchell once again came out flying and had a 3-0 lead before Belmont could respond.
McLeod opened the scoring with assists going to Rachel Haefling and Brooklyn Boville.  Tegan Mace then made it 2-0 with a power play goal on a nice feed from McLeod and another assist going to Alexis Gettler.  The Meteors went up 3-0 on McLeod's second goal with assists going to Mace and Boville.  Belmont came back hard in the 3rd and got 2 back but were not able to tie it up as Mitchell held them off for a 3-2 win.
