Meteors Advance Over Cyclones
In front of a packed full house of family, grandparents, and friends, the New Orleans Pizza Peewee AE’s up two games to one, needed one more win to advance to round two of OMHA playoffs.  The Meteors found what they needed in Game four against Listowel, on home ice January 21st,  coming up big with a convincing 7-1 victory against the Cyclones.

Logan Verberne was quick to get the Meteors on the board when he received a tape to tape pass from Ryan Hubbard early in the first, followed by Cohen Ahrens with a “Big Clapper” as he raced off the bench to pick up a rebound puck as the buzzer sounded, to put the home team up by two heading into the second.  Wade Campbell, Payton Wood and Jonah Gibbings worked together through the clutter in-front of the Cyclones net, to put Mitchell up by three. The Meteors wingers were strong along the boards and quick to feed the puck in, contributing to Ryan Klumper adding two, including a backhanded beauty, as Verberne added his second, and Hubbard added a shorthanded wrister.  Great defense on the blue-line, and strong goal-tending held Listowel to only one goal.

The Meteors primed and ready, get set to take on Saugeen, as they  make a road trip up to Port Elgin for game one of round two, Saturday afternoon.
