Meteors Record Pair Of Ties In Exhibition Play
The Hoegy's Farm Supply Meteor Peewee Reps played two exhibition games this past week, beginning with a low-scoring 1-1 road game vs the St Marys Rock on Sept 25th, followed by a 3-3 draw with visiting BCH on Sept 27th.
In St Marys after a scoreless opening period, the host Rock scored first late in the second on an unassisted power play goal. Charlie Geiger would score Mitchell's lone goal midway through the third to salvage the tie, assisted by Jack Van Loon and Hayden Nicholson.
Back in Mitchell on Friday night, BCH would score a minute into the game to take the early lead. The Meteors would respond back in the dying seconds of the first period on a goal by Jack Miller from Bryce Otten. Scoring Mitchell goals in the second period were Ethan Jarmuth and Nick Wagner, with assists awarded to Jacob Dietrich, Brayden Hoegy, and Van Loon. With less than a minute remaining, BCH would score on the power play to come within one goal, and promptly march down off the faceoff to score the tying goal seconds later to end in a 3-3 tie.
