vs Hanover Falcons
’Twas the last game before the New Year, when the Terry’s Auto Service Mitchell Midget AE hosted the Hanover Falcons.

Among vacations, suspensions and injuries, players would be few. It looked like the Grinch had it all planned out, stealing the AE’s Christmas spirit would be something the Falcons would think was grand. With another loss seemingly lurking, we couldn’t help but wonder, could there be a win near? Management had called up 5 players:  Wade Monden, Eric Dearing, Josh Duncan, Cole Wilton and Dominic Voros with hopes of giving the fans something to cheer, pulling out a win would certainly be a reason to raise a beer.

With just seconds passed, Connor Louwagie, with help coming from Eric Dearing and Kurtis Forest, jingled the puck pass the Hanover goalie, commencing the scoring for the AE’s, the first of many. Next to come was Cole Wilton, receiving a pass from Darren Feltz and Josh Bedour, ending the scoring in the first. The second period saw one, lone goal as Solomon Koert blistered the puck into the net, with assists going to Carter Preszcator and Joe Hill, ending the second period with a plus of one, 3-0.

With the AE’s defence being impenetrable, Mitchell again dominated the game in the third with three more goals being added to the score sheet. Evan Morrison scored a pair as he pranced around Hanover’s net minder with Forest, Dominic Voros, Wade Monden and Josh Duncan all aiding him achieving this Christmas miracle. Not to be left with a lump of coal, Monden finished the scoring late in the third with Koert and Curtis Chaffe working as “elfers" made it 6-0. A much needed win for the boys, keeping them undefeated against the Hanover Falcons in the regular season, whilst adding another two, very important points.

I would be a miss if I did not mention Ryan Bell's performance in net, another shut out and solid night between the pipes…great job!! Solid defence, back checking, puck cycling- all things missing from the pervious games were finally once more.

Terry’s Auto Service Mitchell AE’s will be traveling to Ridgetown on Friday to play in the Ridgetown Groundhog Tournament with the first game staged for 6:15 pm against the Simcoe Warriors.
