7-1 win over Hanover
Well… another spirited night of hockey in Mitchell...

The Terry’s Auto Service Midget AE hosted the Hanover Falcons and there was once again lots of testosterone on the ice, fortunately the Mitchell AE’s once again dominated the game tonight, winning 7-1 over Hanover.

With double digit penalty minutes for both teams at the end of the game, the scoring started in the first period for both teams. Starting the scoring for Mitchell was call up Tristan Beelher receiving a pass from Connor Louwagie early in the first. The defence were able to help with the score in the first when Cameron Hahn sneaked one passed the Hanover goalie after receiving a pass from Curtis Chaffe and Eric Dearing. Next defence to get a goal was Joe Hill getting his first of the year with Devin Fenwick and Jackson MacArthur getting the assists. Finishing the scoring for Mitchell in the first period was Beelher from Louwagie and Kurtis Forrest.  Hanover finally got on the board putting their only goal past Bradley Boville finishing the scoring in the first period at 4-1.

Frustration once again became a factor for the visitors for the remainder of the game and Mitchell capitalized on their frustrations. MacArthur started the scoring in the second when Evan Morrison sent a tape to tape pass to him after Chaffe fed him the puck, then Morrison decided to capitalize on a pass from Fenwick making the score 6-1 to end the second.

The third period was another opportunity for our third defenceman to add to the score sheet and be mentioned in this article. Carter Preszcator finished the scoring for the game when Forrest set him up, ending the scoring at 7-1. Although the third was not filled with goals, it certainly was filled with penalties and ejections, but at the buzzer Mitchell gets another 2 points for the win.

Great seeing Bradley in net this evening, thank you.

Next game is Wednesday night in Brussels when we see the Blyth-Brussels Crusaders for the first time. Puck drop is at 9pm.
