6-1 win over Central Perth
On Sunday evening, the Terry’s Auto Service Mitchell Midget AE team hosted Central Perth for our home opener.

To say this game was “ugly” would be an understatement. Numerous penalty minutes, game suspensions, head shots and overall ridiculousness caused for heated tempers to ensue from both teams, however after 45 minutes of battling, Mitchell prevailed  with the 6-1 win.

Both teams came out slow in the first with just one goal occurring when Evan Morrison found the back of the net after a great passing combination from Jackson MacArthur and Jake Monden. That one goal seemed to ignite Central Perth and the tempo of the game took a drastic change starting the ugliness for the remainder of the game.

Mitchell started the scoring off in the second period when Jackson MacArthur received from a pass by Evan Morrison and buried it. Darren Feltz quickly added to the Mitchell score followed by Josh Bedour finding the back of the net after receiving pass from Feltz. Central Perth finished the scoring in the second period by adding one for themselves, ending the period at 4-1.

In the third period the Mitchell defence held the rivals scoreless increasing our visitors frustrations and allowing our Mitchell boys to capitalize two more times with Jake Monden scoring unassisted shortly followed by Caleb Tweddle handling a pass from Koert and Eric Dearing.

Next game is in Mitchell Tuesday evening when the Terry’s Auto Service Mitchell AE play the  Hanover Falcons for the first time this year. Puck drops at 7 pm.
